EQ2 Icon Harvesting Tools

Get the most out of harvesting by equipping yourself with the proper tools. You do not have to wield the tools to get the benefit. You do have to buff yourself up with the tool by right-clicking on it in your inventory. As the buff lasts for 10 days, this is only an intermittent issue. If you are not canceling the buffs, simply remember to click on the items each weekend to ensure that you constantly have the benefits of your tools in effect.

Harvesting tools can be made by woodworkers and tinkers.

Tools made by woodworkers require a minimum level to use but this can be either adventure or artisan level. There are separate tools for each harvesting skill:

  • Pick: Mining
  • Shovel: Gathering
  • Saw: Foresting
  • Fishing Pole: Fishing
  • Trap: Trapping

Tinkered tools require a minimum artisan level to use. They have combined skills and thus there are only three different tools:

  • Pickaxe: Mining
  • Shears: Gathering and Foresting
  • Watersafe Net: Fishing and Trapping

The following is a table of all of the tool types with the requirements and benefits of each: [More...]

EQ2 Icon Harvesting by Zone

We have a great harvesting reference table on the site which breaks all the harvests by type and tier but it doesn’t tell you where to go to get the goods! Often I know exactly what I need but I have to think about where to get it, especially in the middle zones. Much simpler now with this handy-dandy list of the various zones listed by the tier of their harvest nodes, especially for those zones with multiple tiers!

EQ2 Icon Equipment Slots

The /use_equipped_item is a very useful command because it enables you to to equip and then use an item in a macro. The “Use Item” macro step fails in this instance as it does not recognise that you’ve equipped the item. However, you can add a Command step and use the command line prompt in order to use the items immediately as they’ve been equipped, in the same macro. For an insta-cast item, this means that you can equip the item, cast it and then equip the original piece in a single macro. For non-insta-cast items, you can only do the first two steps, else the cast will be interrupted by the re-equipping. However, it is still useful to quickly equip and cast an item using macros rather than searching for the item in your inventory. [More...]

EQ2 Icon Kunark Faction Rewards

The data is still being collected but Kylong Plains, Fens of Nathsar and most of the Jungle factions have their bought rewards listed on the Kunark Faction Rewards table.

Sixes has once again done his magic and made the whole table sortable, so you can find out quickly what chain items are available or simply see which ones are high on INT. I’ve succumbed to two pieces for my ranger once I had all the information laid out so that I could really compare what is available.

The guides for getting faction are also in progress - once I get caught up on those, we’ll move on to Jarsath Wastes - so keep an eye on the Kunark Faction Rewards page as it’s a work in progress!

EQ2 Icon Tier 8 Food and Drink

Here’s the list of food and drink made by provisioners in tier 8. Unlike previous tiers, the stats available are not separated by type, for example, you can get +INT food and +AGI drink which did not exist in previous tiers. The longer the duration, the more fuel is consumed to make it: a stack of 5 hour food or drink costs 30 gold in fuel alone.

These tables do not include the faction recipes from Kunark, which are more akin to a buff potion than traditional provisioner fare.

The new thing about tier eight is that the stats change by level; thus both the regen figures (health for food and power for drink) and the bonus to stats increase from level 70 to level 80.

Please select your level to personalize the tables below [More...]

EQ2 Icon Housing Locations

The EQ2 housing guide is here! Sixes has applied his gnomish magic once again: the guide is sortable by column so you can find exactly what you are looking for. If you want to get really clever, click on cost and then on location and watch the table re-sort itself to show you the best bargains per city.

This is a great source of information for making sure you are getting the number of rooms you expect and paying a decent price for the neighbourhood.

Click straight through to Housing Locations to see the table in all its glory. :)

If you think this is useful, you should subscribe to our daily update by email to make sure you see Sixes’ next project. Gnomes are great, everyone should have one.

EQ2 Icon Lore and Legend Books

Our Guide for Lore and Legend Quests is totally up-to-date again with the inclusion of the Burynai and Yha-lei books in the Fens of Nathsar and the Di’zok book in Kunzar Jungle. All the new Kunark Lore and Legend quests appear to have a level cap of 80.

A Lore of Legend quest will show up in your journal (and reward experience) based either on your level or the level cap of the quest, which ever is lower. So if you read the Gnoll Lore and Legend book at level 10, it will show up in your journal as a level 10 book. When you ding level 11, the quest will automagically show as a level 11 quest. The quest will continue to level up with you until you reach level 51 - as the Gnoll Lore and Legend has a level cap of 50, the quest will not level up with you beyond that. If at level 61 you were to read the book and take the quest for the first time, it would show as a level 50 quest. The level cap is of interest if you are looking to do the Lore and Legend quests for experience rather than simply to gain the Master Strike against that enemy.

EQ2 Icon Harvesting Made Easy

We have a great harvesting table on the site which breaks everything down by type and tier - including the skill level needed. Sixes recently added tier 8 so that it’s completely up-to-date again. I have this bookmarked as a quick reference, along with the EQtraders rares table. Between the two, I find I can answer most any question that arises to do with raws.

Take a look at http://www.mmorpg-info.org/eq2-harvesting/ . If you find it useful, leave a comment and let us know!
